How does the process work for custom paintings?
I like to start by getting an idea of your style, and if possible, it helps to see a photo of the space where the piece will go. From there we'll discuss size, color palette, and projected timeline. I welcome all of your ideas for the painting! I’ll send a color palette for your approval before getting started, as well as a photo of the finished painting before delivery.
What if I have no idea what I want?
No problem! Whether you have a very specific idea, or you just know you have a blank wall you want to fill, I’m here to help. I’ll send over some ideas to get the ball rolling until we’ve decided on a direction.
What are your prices like?
Medium size custom paintings start at around $2000 and large start at around $3500. Email me for a specific quote!
What sizes do you offer?
The sky is the limit! I've done everything from 4 inch square paintings to 10 feet wide.
How does payment work?
I accept payment via check, Venmo, and Zelle. I request 50% payment at the start of the project, and the balance after delivery. If you feel more comfortable splitting payment into several smaller installments, I’ve done this many times and it’s no problem at all! I'll also send an invoice for your records.
What is your turnaround time for a custom painting?
Average turnaround time is 3-4 weeks from the time we finalize a color palette and size.
Do you deliver outside of the Chicago area?
Yes! I’ve shipped all over the US, and I’ve even flown to Germany to paint a custom piece at a client’s home. I'm always up for an adventure!
What if I don’t like how my painting turned out?
I do my best to avoid this by getting as much information up front on what you’re looking for. However, if you receive your photo and there’s something not quite right, I’m happy to make edits within reason at no extra charge. (For example, you really wanted more of a certain color.) My goal is for you to absolutely love your piece!
Where is your studio? Can I come visit?
I love visitors! My studio is located at my home in Ravenswood, Chicago. Email me to schedule a visit!
Is art your full time job?
Sure is! I started my company in September 2016 when I left my job as a graphic designer. In addition to painting, I occasionally take on graphic design projects to satisfy that side of my brain.
I have a large-scale project I need artwork for. Do you provide mockups?
Yes! For larger projects such as restaurants and hotels, I provide preliminary mockups prior to starting on the paintings themselves.
Do you sell prints of your work?
I currently don't sell prints. I love the idea of each painting I create being completely unique and the only one of it's kind! I realize that original art is more expensive than prints, but I do my best to work with everyone's budget, including splitting payments into smaller installments.
